utterly pointless

finished the CRYPTONOMICON a week ago now... started on John Pilger's new book 'the new rulers of the world'. nice. bit of anti globalist, the world is fucked and this is why kind of book.... you know the ones... don't you? maybe you should....

finally edited my error infested post today. number of times i misspelled steak: 3. not good. maybe need go back to school. or something.

ok so, i'm reading cryptonomicon right, and i'm at the crucial last climatic 100 or so pages... you know where these epic sweeping novels which have these semi unrelated but slightly overlapping concurrent stories, then just towards the end they begin to intertwine in endlessly clever and fascinating ways. and you just still can't possibly see how the author is going to wrap it all up with so little space left in the book. hold on. breathing in now.

so i decided it's like this... i've got myself a girlfriend and am struggling to find the time to finish this book off, and it's been so long now that the trail is starting to cool don't get me wrong i'm extremly happy i have a girl now, but this book was one of the most appealing and engrossing and involving books i've read in years for me anyway, not promising that everyone will feel the same....

it's like going to the most amazing resturant your been to in years - ordering an eye fillet steak - which you only ever do on the rarest of occaisions because you don't trust most places to do it to your liking - after having starved yourself of red meat for a week in preperation for this meal... sitting down, enjoying, no, loving every tiny and subtle flavour infused within the succulent, juciy, tender layers, and just before you get to that point where your stomach says 'yes sam ohhhh yes, thats it right there.....'just before your mouth goes 'gaddamn....' and your brain overflows with serotonin from the sheer sensory smorgasboard.....

the waiter comes by, whacks your steak in a doggy bag, kicks you out with out so much as a 'see ya later'
then next thing you now you're microwaving you steak, so you can sit down in front of the telly, with your fridge odour infused, three day old peice of what appears to be red meat but actually tastes very much like the tuna it sat next to in the fridge....

it's just not the same....

worte a damn good post last night (imho) about something. yea. that's right. ummmm. yea anyway it went gone bung. i mean, sorry, it vanished just before i published it and i could'nt bring it back. most upset. can't remember the gist of it now. too sleep deprived to recall short term things...............what was i talking about..............oh yea um, yea ok..............something - that's right. yea.

something weird is going on with my comments link at the mo. am resolved to fixin it some time in the near future. but have more important and pressing things to deal with right now, like getting a haircut, which i've neglected for far too long now...
